Why Target Biofilms?
Why Removing Biofilm Is Essential For Clearer Looking Skin
Dubbed 'cities for microbes', biofilms are sticky 3D substances that shelter bacteria, creating ideal breeding conditions while protecting them from antibacterial and immune attacks.
For decades, scientists have been puzzled by how bacteria triggers a strong immune response in some people but not others.
Everyone has bacteria on their skin, so why do only some people get acne?
It hasn't been until the past decade that scientists began understanding the link between biofilms and the appearance of acne.
That's when they found their answer.
Scientists now believe that the biofilms produced by bacteria are largely responsible.
Not only are biofilms much more resistant and persistent than bacteria alone, but they're able to trigger a much stronger and prolonged response from your immune system, too.
A Few Of The (Many) Ways Biofilms Contribute To The Appearance Of Acne
- They make the bacteria living inside up to 1000x more resistant to antibacterial and immune attacks.
- They allow these bacteria to continuously secrete pro-inflammatory fatty acids that would otherwise be easily shut down by your immune system.
- They trigger an ongoing pro-inflammatory immune response. Your body sends pro-inflammatory cytokines to the site to eliminate the bacteria, but can’t penetrate the biofilm—greatly prolonging this invisble battle on your skin.
Why Current Skincare Solutions Don't Work Against Biofilms
Because they simply weren't designed to. Current solutions are designed to target bacteria directly, meaning they can't effectively target biofilms or the bacteria hiding inside. Panaclear has been specifically engineered using patented hyperprotonation technology to target biofilms. And we do this without harsh chemicals, using naturally derived ingredients.
What's Hyperprotonation?
Hyperprotonation is the patented 'biofilm-buster' cleansing technology that makes Panaclear so effective.
It works in 3 steps:
1. Neutralise the Biofilm
Our surfactant mix creates an enveloping membrane around biofilms which neutralises their defences and increases permeability.
2. Generate Pressure
While the surfactant mix is doing its job, citric acid and monolaurin are busy “hyperprotonating,” which means they're producing hydrogen molecules that create immense pressure around the biofilm.
3. Cleanse Deeply
Finally, the Panaclear is propelled by this pressure through the biofilm, physically disrupting it and the bacteria inside. The result? Beautiful skin, free from hidden build-up!
